Brilliant by Langham: whether a Hong Kong stay or meal clears the 10,000-point bonus
A Hong Kong reading of Brilliant by Langham: the Onyx dining discount, the US$20 bonus, bookings that earn nothing, and the January 2027 run-off.
Last updated 17 October 2026

Best for
A Hong Kong resident with a paid visit already planned at The Langham, Hong Kong, Cordis, Eaton or another participating hotel.
The bonus is worth claiming only against spend you were going to make. Enrol by 31 December 2026 through the link on this page and the in-app screen credits 10,000 Bonus Award Points to your account for each of the first three eligible transactions of at least US$20. Ordinary earning adds 600 Award Points and 600 Status Points on a clean US$20. Designated Hong Kong restaurants list 15% off for members. Booking.com-style rates earn nothing, and earning ends on 12 January 2027. No cash value per point is published.

The programme, from a Hong Kong booking
Brilliant by Langham is Langham Hospitality Group's loyalty programme, run by Brilliant Loyalty Program Limited. For a Hong Kong resident the relevant doors are The Langham, Hong Kong, Cordis and Eaton hotels that appear as participating, plus Ying'nFlo. The terms also publish a non-participating list. On it, for Hong Kong, are Food Hall at Eaton Hotel, Hong Kong, Rice and Roast at Great Eagle Centre, and the Eaton residences on Blue Pool Road and Village Road.
Enrolment is free for anyone aged 18 or over who has never registered. An email is required. Mainland China registration also requires a mobile number. The starting tier is Onyx, which needs no Status Points.
Dining discount before points
The member-benefits page, read on 17 October 2026, states 15% at designated restaurants in Hong Kong. Outside Hong Kong the same page lists 5% for Onyx and Topaz and 10% for Diamond, Sapphire and Ruby. The programme terms state the same 5% and 10% split and cap a discounted bill at 20 patrons.
You must be at the table, ask for the discount before payment, and pay with your own card. It does not combine with other promotions. Award Points cannot be redeemed on a bill that takes the discount, but points can still be earned on that bill.
Ordinary points on a US$20 bill
Until 11 January 2027 inclusive, eligible spend earns 150 Award Points and 150 Status Points per US$5, and only in those steps. The minimum before any points post is US$10. Nothing spent before enrolment counts.
On those rules a fully eligible US$20 is 600 Award Points and 600 Status Points. Topaz requires 12,000 Status Points, which is US$400 if every dollar qualifies in five-dollar steps. Diamond at 108,000 Status Points is US$3,600 on the same basis. Onyx receives no elite bonus. Topaz adds 10% more Award Points. Award Points do not move your tier.
The bonus the screen actually states
The referral screen supplied on 17 October 2026 states that a person who enrols with the member's unique link on or before 31 December 2026 is identified as an invited member. After each eligible transaction of at least US$20, 10,000 Bonus Brilliant Award Points are credited to that member's account, for the first three transactions. Three transactions are 30,000 points.
The screen does not define the transaction, the charges inside the US$20, or the crediting time. The footnote marked * was not captured. Programme terms do not repeat the figure. Where the live screen and this page differ, the screen prevails. The bonus is not described as Status Points.
Rates that post no points
A qualifying stay must be booked in the member's name, occupied by the member, identified with the membership number, and paid by the member. The terms give Ctrip, Booking.com, Expedia and Fliggy as examples of channels that earn nothing, together with wholesale rates, complimentary rooms, airline disruption rates and long-stay agreements of 14 nights or more.
Award Points can cover up to three rooms in one reservation when the member occupies one room and pays for all of them. Status Points apply only to the occupied room. A missing balance can be queried from three days after the charge, and no later than six months; a successful claim is described as four to six weeks.
January 2027, then January 2028
Enrolment for the bonus ends on 31 December 2026, on the referral screen. From 12 January 2027 the terms stop Award Points, Status Points and elite bonuses, including stays that check out on or after that morning. Redemption of Award Points runs until 11 January 2028. Later expiry dates are brought forward to that day. Expired points are not cashed out. Rewards already issued from points must be used by the same day.
Nothing on the referral screen exempts the 10,000-point credit from that timetable.
A sensible use, and a poor one
Use it when the Langham, Cordis or Eaton visit is already decided and can be booked as a member rate or paid in person at a participating restaurant. One eligible US$20 meal is enough for a single 10,000-point credit.
Skip it when the room is inside a package on Booking.com or a similar site, when the restaurant is on the non-participating list, or when the aim was cash. A person who already holds Brilliant cannot enrol again.
FAQ
- Does registering credit 10,000 points?
- No. The screen requires an eligible transaction of at least US$20, up to three times, after enrolment on or before 31 December 2026.
- Which Hong Kong dining discount applies at Onyx?
- The member-benefits page states 15% at designated Hong Kong restaurants. Outside Hong Kong, Onyx is listed at 5%.
- Why is Topaz described as US$400?
- 12,000 Status Points at 150 per US$5 is US$400, if the whole amount is eligible and in exact five-dollar steps. It is arithmetic from the terms, not a Brilliant slogan.
- Does Rice and Roast at Great Eagle Centre participate?
- The terms list it under non-participating business units, with Food Hall at Eaton Hotel, Hong Kong.
- Can a third-party hotel rate be fixed afterwards?
- The terms exclude those rates. They do not describe a way to add points to a Booking.com, Expedia, Ctrip or Fliggy booking.
- What is the last redemption day?
- 11 January 2028, under the programme terms read on 17 October 2026.
