How to claim

  1. Open the Improv Arena invitation on this page in the browser that will be used to register; it opens improvarena.com and stores code 55PNHS for sign-up.
  2. Select Get started and create an account with Google or an email address in the same browser. The site offers a Traditional Chinese interface.
  3. When onboarding asks what brings you here, confirm that code 55PNHS is applied; if it is not, choose the referral-code option and enter 55PNHS.
  4. Answer the questions on age, gender, languages and microphone, then read each consent before ticking it: together they permit Luvu, Inc. to license recordings and voiceprints to AI companies, and earning is not possible without them.
  5. Connect the microphone and complete the three-minute application in a quiet room: a 15-second silence check followed by two short reads.
  6. Record script lines in Cantonese in the emotion each direction requests. Each take is scored on completion; clean takes earn the most, while takes that are too noisy or incomplete earn nothing and must be re-recorded.
  7. Once the balance exceeds the cash-out minimum (1,000 coins = US$1), open Rewards, enter an email address and request a cash-out. After approval, Tremendous emails a claim link.

Eligibility & requirements

  • Code 55PNHS carries no sign-up bonus; income comes only from accepted recordings and optional rating or transcription work.
  • Applicants must be 18 or over. Improv Arena verifies age before paying, and voices that sound under 18 may be flagged.
  • The Cantonese role is listed for native speakers living in Hong Kong, at up to US$35 per hour of accepted audio. Preparation and re-recording time are not paid.
  • The role requires a USB or studio microphone on a stand and a quiet room, checked before each session; a confirmed professional microphone earns up to 25% more per take.
  • Earning requires consent to the use of recordings for AI model training, synthetic voices and digital replicas, and to their licensing or sale to AI companies. Withdrawing consent pauses earning but does not recall data already licensed.
  • Each account is for one person only. Improv Arena compares voices, and another person recording on the account may lead to a ban; banned accounts cannot cash out.
  • The cash-out minimum is shown in the app (currently US$3–5). Payouts are in US dollars, and Hong Kong is not among the places to which the terms give additional consumer protections.

Pros

  • Remote paid work with no fee, no deposit and no acting experience required.
  • A published ceiling of US$35 (about HK$272) per hour of accepted audio for Cantonese.
  • A low cash-out minimum of US$3–5, claimed through Tremendous as PayPal or a gift card.
  • League bonuses of 15%, 30% or 50% on every take as recordings improve.
  • A Traditional Chinese interface, with each take scored immediately.
  • Operated by Luvu, Inc., a US app company whose TinyStage app rates 4.3 from about 15,700 Google Play ratings.

Watch out for

  • Recordings, voiceprints, age, gender and approximate location are licensed to AI companies, including for voice cloning, and licensed data cannot be withdrawn.
  • Only accepted audio is paid, so earnings per hour of effort fall well below the ceiling.
  • The Cantonese role requires a USB or studio microphone on a stand; without one, only the lower standard rate applies.
  • Recent App Store reviews report balances suspended over "multiple voices", unpaid takes and unanswered support requests.
  • Recording time is capped, and some users report that tasks run out.
  • Payouts are in US dollars; converting them to Hong Kong dollars through PayPal incurs an exchange spread.

FAQ

Is there a bonus for joining with code 55PNHS?
No. Improv Arena does not advertise a sign-up bonus for invited users. Income comes from accepted recordings and, after passing the relevant checks, rating and transcription work.
How much can a Cantonese speaker earn?
Up to US$35 (about HK$272) per hour of accepted audio, before league bonuses. Twenty accepted minutes at that rate pays about US$11.67, or roughly HK$91. Preparation, re-recording and rejected takes are unpaid.
Can I record in English or Mandarin from Hong Kong?
Roles are matched to native language and place of residence. The English roles are listed for residents of the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and India, and the Taiwanese Mandarin role for residents of Taiwan. Improv Arena accepts applications in other languages but does not promise work in them.
Is a professional microphone required?
The Cantonese role asks for a USB or studio microphone on a stand, such as a Blue Yeti. If the app cannot confirm one, applicants may still be accepted with wired headphones at the standard rate; a confirmed professional microphone adds up to 25% per take.
How are payments made?
Cash out in Rewards once the minimum shown is reached (currently US$3–5; 1,000 coins = US$1). After approval, Tremendous emails a link to choose PayPal or a gift card; the options depend on the country. Amounts are in US dollars.
How are the recordings used?
Luvu licenses or sells them, together with voiceprints, age, gender and approximate location, to AI companies for model training, synthetic voices and voice cloning. Withdrawing consent or deleting the account stops new use but does not recall licensed data, and deletion forfeits unredeemed coins.
Why might coins be withheld?
The terms allow Luvu to withhold or cancel coins for suspected fraud, more than one person or account, AI-generated audio, doubts about age or an ineligible region, and there is no formal appeal process. Record alone, on one account, in your own voice, and cash out early.
