Best for
Hong Kong developers who use Claude Code, Codex or their own programs for personal, open-source or non-confidential work, who wish to reduce token costs substantially, and who understand that their prompts will be kept by a Hong Kong company while the model providers do not support Hong Kong.
TeamoRouter is a prepaid LLM routing service operated by Teamo HK Limited. On 24 October 2026 it charged US$1.33 per million input tokens and US$6.65 per million output tokens for Claude Opus 4.8, against Anthropic's list prices of US$5 and US$25, reducing a heavy day's usage from about HK$117 to about HK$31. However, neither OpenAI nor Anthropic lists Hong Kong as a supported region, and using their models from Hong Kong through a third party is a use the providers do not permit; TeamoRouter's privacy policy also states that it keeps request and response content, and it does not state which upstream channel handles each request. This site's conclusion: it is suitable only for non-sensitive work you would not mind being stored, funded with small top-ups; client, employer or personal-data work should not pass through it.

The nature of the service and its operator
TeamoRouter is a routing, metering and billing layer for large language models. Users top up a US-dollar wallet, create a key beginning sk-teamo-, and point their tools at https://api.teamorouter.cn. The service supports Anthropic Messages, OpenAI Chat Completions and Responses, and the Gemini native format, so that Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, GLM and other models share one key and one bill.
The service is operated by Teamo HK Limited in Kowloon, and its terms of service were updated on 20 October 2026. The terms state that the company is not the provider of the underlying models; it forwards requests to official provider APIs or authorised distribution channels and charges according to usage. Users must be aged 18 or over.
Access restrictions facing Hong Kong users
OpenAI's list of supported countries and territories does not include Hong Kong, and states that accessing or offering access to its services outside the listed places may result in an account being blocked or suspended. Anthropic's list of supported regions likewise omits Hong Kong, and states that use by persons located in an unsupported region, and by entities incorporated or headquartered there, is not supported.
TeamoRouter's terms require users to comply with the upstream providers' usage policies. Using Claude or GPT through TeamoRouter while located in Hong Kong is therefore a use the model providers do not permit, and if a provider stops the relevant channel, the service may be interrupted.
The source of the discounts and routing transparency
TeamoRouter attributes its discounts to three factors: providers that pass its quality checks competing for each request, enterprise-scale volume commitments, and investor-funded price subsidies it describes as a limited-time boost. Its website lists cloud platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI and Azure among its routes, and says it excludes grey suppliers operating on pooled subscription accounts.
Users cannot tell which channel responded to a given request. TeamoRouter undertakes that the model received is the model selected, never silently substituted or downgraded, but that undertaking cannot be verified from outside. The discounts should be treated as subsidised prices that may change at any time.
Prices and a cost comparison in Hong Kong dollars
On 24 October 2026 TeamoRouter's prices per million tokens were: Claude Opus 4.8 at US$1.33 input and US$6.65 output (list US$5 and US$25); Claude Sonnet 5 at US$0.50 and US$2.52 (list US$3 and US$15); GPT-5.6 Sol at US$0.53 and US$3.18 (list US$5 and US$30); and Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview at US$0.29 and US$1.73 (list US$2 and US$12). Discounts are repriced hourly according to upstream costs.
Taking a day of 2 million input tokens and 200,000 output tokens on Claude Opus 4.8: at Anthropic's list price the cost is US$15 (about HK$117 at US$1 to HK$7.8), and at TeamoRouter's price US$3.99 (about HK$31). If 1.5 million of the input tokens are cache hits, the figures are about HK$64 and HK$17 respectively, before cache-write charges. A top-up of US$50 (about HK$390) covers about twelve days of the same usage.
Top-ups, refunds and promotional credit
Top-ups are offered in packs of US$10, US$20, US$50 and US$200, or any amount from US$5, paid through Stripe. The wallet is denominated in US dollars, and any local-currency price shown on the payment page is for reference only; the company named on the receipt may be an affiliate. No subscription is required.
Purchased credit never expires. Credit already used is not refundable, but unused purchased credit may be refunded to the original payment method on application to the email address given in the terms, less non-refundable processing fees. Promotional credit, such as first-top-up bonuses and referral rewards, has no cash value, is not refundable and may expire.
Privacy and data location
TeamoRouter's privacy policy provides that its request-trace system keeps request and response content, together with usage data such as the model, token counts, API key identifier and IP address, for troubleshooting, analysis of routing quality and customer support; it is retained for as long as reasonably necessary and may be deleted earlier at the user's request. The content is not used to train models and is not sold.
Primary servers and storage are in Hong Kong, on cloud infrastructure that includes Tencent Cloud; content-delivery edge nodes are located in several places, including mainland China and the United States; and the website uses Microsoft, Google and Baidu analytics. As a Hong Kong company, Teamo HK Limited is subject to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, but request content is also passed to the upstream channel that handles the request and is governed by that provider's terms.
Terms of service and reliability
Users must comply with the usage policies of the upstream providers, including Anthropic and OpenAI, must not resell the service, and must verify outputs themselves. In the event of a breach, TeamoRouter may throttle, suspend or terminate the account, and promotional credit is forfeited on termination for fraud or abuse.
Promotional material refers to a 99.98% routing SLA, but the terms of service provide the service "as is" with no general uptime commitment; SLAs exist only in separately signed enterprise agreements. Liability is capped at the amount paid in the 12 months before the event, so balances should be kept moderate.
Setup
For Claude Code, ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL should be set to https://api.teamorouter.cn and ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN to the key; OpenAI SDKs and Codex use https://api.teamorouter.cn/v1 as the base URL. Available models can be listed with GET /v1/models.
It is advisable to use a separate key for each tool, set a spending limit in the client, and check billing with a short test first. Models ending in -free, such as deepseek-flash-free, are free of charge but limited to 200 requests per model per day and share a daily platform allowance.
The invite code and disclosure
The link on this site opens TeamoRouter with the invite code a3a4fa8a95 attached. TeamoRouter publishes no fixed reward for invited users, and prices are the same whether or not the code is used; any promotional credit granted appears in the wallet history and is subject to the promotional credit rules above.
Disclosure: a3a4fa8a95 is this site's invite code. TeamoRouter's Refer & earn programme pays the inviter in US dollars at a rate not published on its open pages, so this site receives a referral reward from your account.
Common billing questions and user feedback
TeamoRouter's billing FAQ chiefly addresses three points: why one chat message produces several billing records (agent tools make helper calls in the background), why GPT-5.4 mini appears when GPT-5.5 was selected (clients use small models for auxiliary work), and why cache writes cost more than cache reads. Fast mode is charged at twice the list price, and cache-write anomalies in Claude Code and Codex are refunded at up to 80% of the related charge.
TeamoRouter has no mobile app and no app-store rating, and offers a desktop client and a Discord community. On 24 October 2026 independent user reviews were scarce, so it is prudent to test with a small amount first and compare the billing records with the expected charge before topping up again.
Suitable and unsuitable uses
It suits personal projects, open-source work and experiments, where cost matters more than data location and the providers' regional policies; top-ups should be limited to amounts whose loss would be acceptable, and prompts should contain nothing confidential.
Client or employer code, content containing login credentials or personal data, regulated work, and uses that require a contractual uptime commitment should not pass through it.
FAQ
- Is TeamoRouter an official OpenAI or Anthropic service?
- No. It is a third-party routing service operated by Teamo HK Limited, which forwards requests to official APIs or authorised distribution channels and charges through its own prepaid wallet.
- Can the official APIs be used directly from Hong Kong?
- Neither OpenAI's nor Anthropic's supported list includes Hong Kong; OpenAI states that access from outside its list may lead to an account being blocked or suspended, and Anthropic does not support use by persons located in unsupported regions.
- Are the discounts really as much as 90%?
- For some models. On 24 October 2026 GPT-5.6 Sol was 90% below list, Claude Sonnet 5 84% and Claude Opus 4.8 74%; prices are repriced hourly.
- Is there a reward for using the invite code?
- TeamoRouter publishes no reward for invited users, and prices are the same. The code records this site as inviter, so this site receives a referral reward.
- Does credit expire, and can it be refunded?
- Purchased credit never expires, and unused purchased credit may be refunded less processing fees; used credit and promotional credit cannot be refunded.
- Does TeamoRouter keep prompt content?
- Yes. Its privacy policy states that request and response content is kept with usage data, primarily in Hong Kong, for troubleshooting and support, and may be deleted on request.
- How should the base URL be set?
- https://api.teamorouter.cn for Claude Code and the Anthropic SDK, and https://api.teamorouter.cn/v1 for OpenAI SDKs and Codex, with a key beginning sk-teamo-.
