SNKRDUNK Review: Fees, Delivery Times and Return Rules on the Japanese Authenticated Sneaker and Card Marketplace, and the HK$38 Invitation Coupon

SNKRDUNK is operated by SODA inc. of Tokyo and is known in Japan as Sunidan; its international app is called SNKRDUNK TCG & Sneakers. The platform matches individual sellers with buyers, mainly for sneakers, streetwear, Pokémon, One Piece and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards (single cards and sealed boxes), and collectibles such as POP MART and BE@RBRICK. The app's description puts its community at more than six million collectors.

Hong Kong is one of the officially supported delivery destinations, but the international version is for buying only: SNKRDUNK has discontinued selling outside Japan, so Hong Kong users cannot sell on the platform. Article 22 of the Terms of Use provides that users residing in Hong Kong are governed by Hong Kong law, with disputes subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts.

Once a sale is agreed, the seller must first send the item to SNKRDUNK's authentication centre in Japan. Authenticators inspect each item; those that pass receive an SNKRDUNK authentication badge and are then packed and shipped by the platform, and neither party's personal details are disclosed to the other. The payment is held by the platform, and if an item is judged to be counterfeit the buyer receives a full refund.

Sealed card boxes are checked for factory seals, card condition and printing markers, and the app description adds that X-ray technology helps identify counterfeits. The terms allow the platform to open packaging and remove insoles, laces and accessories for appraisal, and original packing materials are not returned. Items are photographed during authentication to prevent substitution when goods are sent back.

Registration is free. Each purchase carries a purchase fee of 3.5% of the purchase price (tax included), which also covers authentication. Shipping is calculated from the delivery destination and the parcel's weight and size and is built into the total shown at checkout. When two or more sneakers or single cards are bought in one cart, shipping is discounted from the second item; sealed card boxes and packs carry a flat shipping fee per set, which SNKRDUNK illustrates at US$34 a set.

As a rule the platform does not allow cancellations; where one is permitted in special circumstances, the charge is 10% of the purchase price.

SNKRDUNK accepts Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, UnionPay and Maestro cards (3D Secure required), PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and no other methods, so FPS, Octopus and other local e-wallets are not supported. Klarna instalments are available only in the United States and Australia.

The app is in English only. Prices and coupons appear in the currency selected for the account, which can be changed under Account > Currency; Hong Kong users should select HKD before using a coupon.

SNKRDUNK estimates that delivery usually takes 5 to 15 days from the start of the transaction: about 1 to 4 days for the seller to prepare, 1 to 2 days to reach the authentication centre, 1 to 4 days for authentication and packing, and 2 to 5 days for delivery to the buyer. There is no express option and delivery dates cannot be specified; each listing shows the seller's average shipping time, and choosing a seller who ships within 0 to 1 day shortens the wait.

SNKRDUNK delivers only to personal residential addresses; office, warehouse, hotel and forwarding addresses are refused, and using one can temporarily restrict the account at payment. For a Hong Kong address, enter 999077 as the post code and the district (for example, Central) in the City field, not Hong Kong. If a parcel is returned because nobody was home, the buyer pays the shipping for redelivery.

SNKRDUNK collects duties and taxes at checkout only for the United States, Canada, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. Hong Kong is not on that list, so any charge would be collected by the courier on delivery.

Hong Kong is a free port: Customs levies duty only on four classes of dutiable commodities, namely liquor, tobacco, hydrocarbon oil and methyl alcohol, so sneakers, clothing and trading cards are normally duty-free. If a parcel is held during clearance, the courier may charge handling or storage fees, which are outside SNKRDUNK's control.

New users who register through our link with invitation code 8MFNX9 receive a shopping coupon that a Hong Kong account shows as HK$38 (SNKRDUNK prices it in yen, at ¥750). Before the coupon is issued you must verify your email, complete SMS verification and register a delivery address. If the coupon does not appear automatically, tap our invitation link again while logged in, or enter the code under Account > Profile > Coupon Menu (not in the Limited Time Coupon field).

The coupon applies only to items priced at the equivalent of US$80 (¥12,000, about HK$620) or more. It must be selected manually on the Confirm Purchase screen and cannot be added once a transaction has started, and only one coupon can be used per order or cart. An invitation code can be entered once per person or phone number, and no coupon is issued if registration details are incomplete or one person holds several accounts. Users who have received the SDWLCM Welcome Coupon cannot claim an invitation coupon, and those who have used an invitation code cannot claim the welcome coupon, so it is one or the other.

SNKRDUNK's June 2026 coupon notice sets the validity at 30 days including the day of issue, while an older note on the invitation page still says 14 days; the expiry date shown in the Coupons list is the one that applies, and using the coupon within 14 days avoids any doubt. If a transaction on which the coupon was used is cancelled for personal reasons, the coupon is forfeited; if it is cancelled for the seller's reasons, the coupon is reissued. The campaign may change or end at any time. Disclosure: 8MFNX9 is this site's own invitation code; when you complete registration, SNKRDUNK also issues us a coupon of the same face value.

The coupon reduces the item price, but every order still carries the 3.5% purchase fee. On a HK$620 item, just at the threshold, the fee is HK$21.70, so the coupon covers it with HK$16.30 to spare; at about HK$1,086 the fee equals HK$38 exactly; on a HK$2,000 item the fee is HK$70, and the coupon covers about half of it.

Take an item priced at HK$1,200: add the HK$42 fee and deduct the HK$38 coupon, and the total before shipping is HK$1,204. In other words, the coupon all but removes the fee on your first order rather than cutting the price; when comparing prices, set the checkout total including shipping against what the same item actually sells for elsewhere.

Once payment is made, buyers cannot cancel, even after choosing the wrong size or buying the same item twice. There are only two exceptions: if the seller misses the shipping deadline, the buyer can request cancellation through the transaction chat or by emailing [email protected]; and if an item is still unshipped 30 days after the transaction began, the system cancels it automatically. When a transaction is cancelled for reasons such as seller non-shipment, the payment is refunded and any coupon used is returned (certain promotional coupons excepted).

SNKRDUNK offers no exchanges and accepts no returns for personal reasons such as fit or a change of mind. An item that falls short of the platform's standards must be reported within 7 days of delivery, with the authentication badge or sticker still attached, all accessories present and the item unworn and unused; minor scratches or marks within the authentication standards do not qualify. An approved claim is refunded to the original payment method once the item is returned, or the buyer can accept a coupon instead.

A suspected counterfeit is handled through the full-compensation process: email customer support and return the item (cash on delivery is accepted). The platform re-inspects it; if it still considers the item genuine, a third-party authenticator decides. If the third party finds it counterfeit, the full price is refunded; if it finds it genuine, the item is sent back to the buyer. No compensation is paid if the returned item differs from the one photographed at authentication.

As of 24 October 2026, SNKRDUNK TCG & Sneakers is rated 4.9 on the App Store (Hong Kong) from 396 ratings and 4.8 on Google Play from 818 reviews, with more than 100,000 downloads.

The recurring complaints are that a single card can take two weeks once seller preparation and authentication are included; that sellers who fail to ship lead to cancelled transactions; that sold-out items still open a checkout screen that ends in an error; and that the outer cases of sealed card boxes arrive damaged without qualifying for a return. Positive reviews centre on reliable authentication and items arriving in good condition.

It suits buyers who want sneakers, sealed card boxes or single cards from the Japanese market, value authentication before dispatch, can accept one to two weeks for delivery, and check size and model carefully before paying. The HK$38 coupon does most for a first order priced between HK$620 and about HK$1,086.

It does not suit those who need same-day or scheduled delivery, want the flexibility to return items, pay only by FPS or Octopus, can receive parcels only at an office or forwarding address, or want to sell on the platform.
