Best for

Hong Kong residents who regularly book local attractions, theme parks and hotel stays, or travel to Japan, Korea and the region, and who wish to manage tickets, transport, eSIMs and tours in a single app.

Klook is a licensed Hong Kong travel agent with a catalogue centred on Asia, and Hong Kong dollar payments can be made by Octopus, PayMe, Alipay and WeChat Pay, which makes it a convenient platform for tickets, tours and eSIMs. A new account opened through our invitation receives a HK$30 promo code on registration; on a HK$300 ticket that is roughly 10% off, but the sum is modest and should not alter any travel plan. What determines value is each product's cancellation terms and whether Klook's price is lower than the venue's or operator's own channel. Open the account through our link, check the minimum spend and expiry on the Promo codes page first, and apply the code to a booking that is unlikely to be cancelled.

Pros

  • Tickets, tours, rail tickets, eSIMs, airport transfers and hotels can all be booked from one account
  • Registering through our invitation brings a HK$30 promo code at once, with no booking required first
  • Hong Kong dollar payments accept Octopus, PayMe, Alipay, WeChat Pay and UnionPay QuickPass
  • No handling fee is charged for activity bookings; instant-confirmation products confirm in about five minutes
  • The entry tier earns 0.10% to 0.80% of the amount paid as KlookCash (100 KlookCash = US$1)
  • Written promises cover vouchers that fail at the entrance, hotel overbooking and operator cancellations within 24 hours

Watch-outs

  • Klook's public pages do not state the minimum spend, eligible products or expiry of the HK$30 code
  • Saved codes are applied automatically to eligible bookings and may be used on an unintended order
  • A one-time-use code is not reissued after a booking is cancelled
  • Products without instant confirmation take 24 to 48 hours, and some orders are cancelled while pending
  • Refunds follow the operator's cancellation policy, and card refunds take 7 to 14 business days
  • Tickets for popular events sell out quickly, and refunds for poorly run events rest with the organiser

The company and its licence

Klook was founded in Hong Kong in 2014, and its app is published by Klook Travel Technology Limited. The company holds a Hong Kong travel agent's licence, number 354005, with its head office on the 22nd floor of Kinwick Centre, 32 Hollywood Road, Central, and is licensed for outbound, inbound and local travel services.

Klook supplies some products itself and sells others on behalf of their operators, so venues, tour companies and transport operators still set the rules on the day. Every product states its own cancellation policy before payment, and that policy, rather than any general Klook rule, decides whether a refund is available.

Product range and confirmation times

The range covers attraction and theme-park tickets, local and overseas tours, rail tickets and passes for Japan and elsewhere, eSIMs, airport transfers, car hire, hotels and some flights. Hong Kong residents use it most for local attractions, hotel stays and trips to Japan, Korea, Taiwan and South-East Asia.

Products marked for instant confirmation send a confirmation email within about five minutes; others require 24 to 48 hours. Electronic vouchers are held in the app, and eSIMs install from Account > Bookings by selecting Add eSIM to device; installation and testing should be completed in Hong Kong before departure.

Payment methods and fees

Klook charges no handling fee for activity bookings (Klook help). Paying in a currency other than that of the card may attract a foreign transaction fee from the issuing bank, and Klook notes that PayPal payments may carry additional charges. Paying in Hong Kong dollars avoids these costs.

For Hong Kong dollar payments, Octopus, PayMe, Alipay, WeChat Pay and UnionPay QuickPass are accepted in addition to Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB and UnionPay cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay (Klook help). The methods offered depend on the currency, location, amount, the promo code applied and the product, and a single booking cannot be split between two payment methods.

The new-user code: conditions and how to claim it

According to Klook's invitation page, a new user who registers through an invitation receives a HK$30 promo code upon registration. Open our invitation link before creating a Klook account; it carries the invitation code U6BZD, and if the registration page asks for an invitation code, enter U6BZD. The offer applies to new accounts only and cannot be added to an existing one.

After registration, the page confirms that the code has been added to the account and directs the user to the app. Klook's public pages do not state the code's minimum spend, eligible products or expiry; these conditions appear on the code itself, which can be viewed on the website by selecting the account icon and then Promo codes, or in the app under the Promo codes banner at the top of the Account page (Klook help).

Disclosure: U6BZD is this site's invitation code. Once you have registered and completed a booking, Klook also pays us a HK$30 reward; Klook states that the reward is issued within 24 hours of the booking being completed, meaning the voucher has been used and the activity has taken place (Klook help).

Five steps: open our invitation before creating an account, register as a new user so that U6BZD attaches, check the HK$30 code's minimum spend and expiry under Account > Promo codes, check the Discounts section when booking, then confirmation in about five minutes for instant products or 24 to 48 hours for others. Note: saved codes apply automatically, and a one-time code is not reissued after a cancellation.

What the code is actually worth

Provided the booking meets the minimum spend and product conditions, HK$30 takes 30% off a HK$100 ticket, 10% off a HK$300 ticket and only 3.75% off a HK$800 ticket. The code therefore delivers proportionally more on low-priced products, but cannot be used at all once the minimum spend exceeds the price; the Subtotal on the checkout page shows the exact deduction before payment.

The code costs nothing and is worth claiming, but it should not determine the choice of product. Compare prices on the venue's or operator's official channel first: an official price HK$50 lower already beats a HK$30 deduction on Klook, and a ticket that can be rescheduled may be worth more than a discount on a non-refundable one.

Bar chart: HK$30 takes 30% off a HK$100 ticket (HK$70 paid), 10% off a HK$300 ticket (HK$270 paid) and 3.75% off a HK$800 ticket (HK$770 paid). The Explorer tier adds 0.10% to 0.80% of the amount paid as KlookCash.

Automatic application and the effect of cancellation

Klook applies codes held in the account automatically to eligible bookings, and the Discounts section at checkout shows which code is in use (Klook help). If the first booking is merely an Airport Express ticket, the HK$30 may be consumed there. Until the code has been used on the intended booking, the Discounts section should be checked before every payment.

When a booking is cancelled, any KlookCash used is refunded automatically, but a one-time-use promo code is not reissued; codes that are not one-time use return to the account (Klook help). Confirm the type of code on the Promo codes page and apply it to a booking that is certain not to be cancelled.

KlookCash and membership tiers

KlookCash is Klook's reward credit: 100 KlookCash equals US$1 and can offset part of a later booking (Klook help). Since 12 March 2026, completed bookings earn 0.10% to 0.80% of the amount paid on the entry Explorer tier, 0.28% to 2.40% on Gold and 0.48% to 4% on Platinum, depending on the product (Klook help); e-gift cards, coupon packs and free bookings earn nothing.

Reviews also earn credit: among the first ten reviews each month, one of at least 40 Chinese characters earns 20 KlookCash, and one with three or more photos earns 30. At Explorer rates, a HK$270 booking earns roughly 3 to 28 KlookCash, worth about HK$0.27 to HK$2.16. At least 10 KlookCash must be held before it can be used; it cannot be applied to Klook Passes, e-gift cards or travel insurance, and it expires 365 days after it is earned (Klook help).

Refund times and customer promises

Once a refund is approved, Klook processes it within 24 hours. Refunds to cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay take 7 to 14 business days; payments from an e-wallet balance take 1 to 3 days, and those made with a card linked to the wallet take 7 to 14 business days; bank transfers take 14 to 30 business days (Klook help). Late arrivals and no-shows follow the product's own policy and generally receive no refund.

Klook's written customer promises are worth understanding in advance (customer promises). If a voucher fails at the entrance because of Klook's error and the problem is not resolved within 15 minutes, a ticket may be bought on the spot; Klook refunds the booking and pays any difference where the gate price is higher. If a tour differs materially from its description, or the operator cancels within 24 hours, a full refund and reasonable compensation are provided. Where a hotel is overbooked, a hire car is unavailable or a driver fails to appear, Klook assists with alternative arrangements.

The promises have limits. When a booking is missed because of a flight delay or illness, Klook waives its own fees and makes representations to the operator, but the operator makes the final decision. If a typhoon or a government order closes the venue, a full refund or a new date is available; if, however, a typhoon signal in Hong Kong cancels your flight while the venue at the destination remains open, the normal cancellation policy applies and such losses fall to travel insurance.

User ratings

As at 24 October 2026, the Klook app was rated 4.7 on the Hong Kong App Store (39,016 ratings) and 4.7 on Google Play in Hong Kong (148,661 ratings worldwide). Positive reviews centre on the breadth of choice and ease of use.

The principal issues in low ratings are: tickets for popular events selling out at release, with users considering that the platform fails to block automated buying; refunds refused after poorly organised events; hotel bookings cancelled after payment, with slow refunds; saved promo codes applied automatically to low-value orders; some tickets requiring extensive personal details; and limited flexibility to change dates. The sensible responses are to favour instant-confirmation products, keep screenshots of the cancellation terms and check the code in use before paying.

Who it suits, and who it does not

It suits Hong Kong residents planning to book several paid attractions, a theme park, an eSIM or airport transfers who prefer to manage them in one app with instant electronic vouchers. The HK$30 code is only a small discount on the first booking.

Where the official channel is cheaper, where plans may change and the Klook product is non-refundable, or where a complex rail itinerary is needed, compare first or buy directly from the operator. When competing for popular event tickets, bear in mind that the organiser, not the platform, is responsible for how the event is run.
