FastAIToken Review: Can Hong Kong Residents Use This OpenAI-Compatible AI Gateway?

A review of FastAIToken for Hong Kong residents: the restrictions its region policy places on Hong Kong users, sign-up conditions and trial credit, pricing groups, the 30-day refund and 365-day balance validity, data handling, and who it does and does not suit.

Best for

Hong Kong developers who build small projects on Chinese models such as DeepSeek, Qwen and GLM, would like one OpenAI-format key for management and billing, and are comfortable with Chinese-language customer support.

For Hong Kong residents, FastAIToken's principal selling point does not apply. Its region policy provides a model only where the model's maker supports the user's location, and Hong Kong appears on none of the supported lists of OpenAI, Anthropic or the Google Gemini API; circumventing this by VPN or proxy breaches the terms and may lead to a frozen account and a balance that is not refunded. What Hong Kong residents can in practice use are the Chinese models, which the platform says are usually priced below the official rates. If you genuinely develop on such models, begin with the free trial credit, then make a small top-up and set a cap on every key; if your aim is to use GPT or Claude, registration is not recommended. It is, moreover, an unofficial reseller with no published company address, promotional bonuses are deducted in full on refund, and the balance lapses one year after the last top-up.

Pros

  • One OpenAI-compatible key reaches DeepSeek, Qwen, GLM, Kimi, Doubao and other Chinese models
  • The platform states that Chinese models are usually priced below the official rates
  • New users may request free trial credit from customer service
  • Unused paid balance is refundable within 30 days, with no fee for Alipay or WeChat Pay payments
  • The console allows separate keys per project, spending caps and an itemised billing log
  • Charges arising from 5xx errors, timeouts or duplicate billing are returned to the balance within 3 working days

Watch-outs

  • Hong Kong is absent from the OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini API supported lists, so under its policy Hong Kong residents may not use those models
  • Circumvention by VPN or proxy is a breach, and the balance may be frozen without refund
  • Not an official product of any model maker, and the operator publishes no address or company number
  • Registration accepts only Gmail, Outlook, QQ, 163 and a few company email domains
  • Promotional bonuses are deducted in full on refund, and the balance lapses 365 days after the last top-up
  • No password reset or two-factor login, and support runs mainly through Chinese-language QQ groups and WeChat

Register via this FastAIToken affiliate link for an OpenAI-compatible third-party AI API gateway / aggregator (site title FastAI 模型). The platform markets unified auth, smart routing, failover and usage metering across many models, with prepaid account balance for API spend. FastAIToken’s own terms state it is not an official OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude or other upstream vendor product. There is no fixed cash signup bonus; the docs say new users can contact staff for trial credit, and top-up promotions vary. Unused balance can be refunded within 30 days under the published refund policy, but promotional bonuses are deducted in full and card or PayPal top-ups lose a 1–3% channel fee. Models are only provided where the model maker supports your region: Hong Kong is not on OpenAI's, Anthropic's or Google's Gemini API lists. Data may route via third parties; read the privacy terms and pricing before production use.

The service and its operator

FastAIToken is a third-party AI model API relay. Using one key and one OpenAI-compatible endpoint, the user's requests are forwarded to GPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Qwen, GLM and other models; the platform meters the tokens and deducts the cost from a prepaid balance. The homepage states that more than 40 models are supported, and the documentation also lists image models and Seedance video models.

Its Terms of Service state at the outset that the service is not an official product of OpenAI, Anthropic or any other model maker, nor authorised, endorsed by or in partnership with them. The website names the operator only as International Ciyuan Inc., with no registered address, company number or governing-law clause; customer support is handled through QQ groups, WeChat and [email protected], mainly in Chinese.

Regional restrictions for Hong Kong residents

FastAIToken's Supported Regions policy provides a model only where the relevant model maker supports the user's location, taking the lists officially published by OpenAI and Anthropic as the reference. As at 24 October 2026, Hong Kong appears on none of the supported-region lists of OpenAI, Anthropic or the Google Gemini API; under its policy, therefore, Hong Kong residents may not use GPT, Claude or Gemini models through FastAIToken.

The policy also prohibits circumvention through VPNs, proxies, overseas servers, false addresses or borrowed identities, and an account in breach may be frozen without refund of its balance. Notably, its troubleshooting page advises users to switch to a Hong Kong or US VPN when Cloudflare blocks their IP; being able to connect technically does not mean complying with the terms. What Hong Kong residents may use within the terms are chiefly the Chinese models that the policy does not name, such as DeepSeek, Qwen and GLM.

Which models a Hong Kong resident can use through FastAIToken: OpenAI (GPT), Anthropic (Claude) and the Google Gemini API do not list Hong Kong, so they are not available; Chinese models such as DeepSeek, Qwen and GLM are not named in the policy. Using a VPN, proxy or false address breaches the terms, FastAIToken can freeze the account, and a frozen balance is not refunded.

Sign-up conditions, trial credit and our code

Registration requires an email address on a specified list: Gmail, Outlook, QQ, vip.qq.com, 163 and a few company domains. Other addresses, including Yahoo, iCloud, Hotmail and local internet service provider accounts, are rejected. Registration also involves a Cloudflare check, email verification and acceptance of the terms in a pop-up window. The public sign-up settings have password reset switched off and offer no two-factor or passkey login, so the password should be kept in a password manager.

New users may contact customer service after registering to request trial credit. FastAIToken does not publish the amount, which customer service determines when the user asks. Its refund policy explains that the free test credit exists so that users can verify a model's speed, output quality and billing before paying, and it should be used for exactly that.

Integration and feature coverage

In the OpenAI SDK, set the Base URL to https://www.fastaitoken.com/v1 and use the FastAIToken key as the Bearer token; thereafter, changing the model name is sufficient to switch models. Where a tool requires an address without /v1, enter https://www.fastaitoken.com. The documentation provides set-up instructions for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Cline, Cherry Studio, Dify, Open WebUI, LangChain and other tools, with separate instructions for Chinese models.

Feature coverage is uneven. The API manual lists only chat completions and the model list as available endpoints and still marks embeddings, streaming, images, video and multimodal input as in development, although separate tutorials cover image and Seedance video generation. The terms also state that compatible refers only to the request format, and error codes, token counting, tool calls and streaming may all differ from the official APIs. Any endpoint you require should first be tested with the trial credit.

Pricing model, groups and plans

Text is billed per token, while images, video and what the pricing page calls special reverse-engineered models are billed per call; a key's settings can force per-token billing only. The full price list is available only after login, and the published principle is that overseas models track the official standard prices as closely as possible, Chinese models such as DeepSeek, Qwen, Doubao, Kimi and GLM are usually below the official prices, and rare new models may be priced higher.

The actual cost also depends on the group to which a key belongs. The documentation promotes a low-multiplier welfare group for OpenAI models (with a maximum of five concurrent requests) and a Kiro group for Claude intended to lower the cost of the "Claude Max pool". These names indicate that the capacity derives from subscription plans and third-party tools rather than pay-as-you-go official APIs, which is inconsistent with the "pure official relay" claim on the same page; for Hong Kong residents, both groups already fall outside what the region policy permits. The homepage also divides plans by throughput: Developer with 5 concurrent requests and 40 requests a minute, Professional with 20 and 200, and Enterprise by arrangement, with prices shown only in the console.

Balance, validity and refunds

The balance is prepaid service credit rather than a deposit: it earns no interest, cannot be transferred and may be used only on FastAIToken. It is valid for 365 days from the last top-up, and any top-up within that period resets the validity of the entire balance to 365 days; reminders are sent 30 days and 7 days before expiry.

Unused paid balance may be refunded without reason within 30 calendar days of the top-up being credited, provided that no invoice has been issued for that payment. The refundable amount is the amount paid less the amount used, any promotional bonus and the payment channel fee: nil for Alipay and WeChat Pay, 1% for a company bank transfer, 1% to 3% for PayPal, Wise or a card, and the network fee for USDT. In FastAIToken's own example, RMB 500 paid, with a RMB 50 bonus and RMB 120 used, yields a refund of RMB 330, approximately HK$388. Refunds are returned only by the original payment route.

Applications may be made through a console ticket or by email to [email protected] with the subject 退款申請. FastAIToken confirms the amount within 1 to 2 working days; thereafter a refund to Alipay or WeChat takes 1 to 3 working days, and to a card or PayPal 3 to 7 working days. Charges arising from 5xx errors, timeouts, empty responses or duplicate billing are returned to the balance within 3 working days if reported within 15 days with the request ID. Do not raise a chargeback with your bank without first contacting FastAIToken, as the account will otherwise be suspended and the balance frozen while the dispute is resolved.

FastAIToken's own refund example: RMB 500 paid by Alipay (about HK$588), a RMB 50 promotional bonus that is not refunded, and RMB 120 used on API calls; a refund by Alipay or WeChat Pay returns RMB 330 (about HK$388), while a card or PayPal payment returns RMB 315 to 325 (about HK$370 to 382) after a 1% to 3% channel fee. Applications must be made within 30 days of payment and before an invoice is issued; the balance is valid for 365 days from the last payment.

Data handling and privacy

The documentation describes FastAIToken as a transparent proxy that retains no conversation content and keeps logs to a minimum. The terms are broader: the platform may retain request metadata, the model, usage, error messages, IP addresses, account identifiers and some request logs, and request content or metadata may be transmitted to upstream model providers, cloud service providers and other infrastructure providers.

The terms also require users not to submit personal data they are not entitled to process, trade secrets, source code, keys or customer data. For Hong Kong users, customer or staff data protected by the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, and content covered by confidentiality agreements, should not be processed through this service; it is better suited to prototyping, public data and personal projects.

Service stability and common problems

The terms make no commitment to continuity or stability. Upstream bans, rate limits, price changes, network attacks and payment reviews may all interrupt the service, and FastAIToken's liability is capped at the fees the user actually paid in the 30 days before the dispute. If a model is permanently withdrawn for upstream reasons and your business depends entirely on it, you may apply for a refund of the unused balance within 30 days of the withdrawal.

The service has no app-store rating or substantial body of user reviews to consult. Its troubleshooting page lists the problems users most often encounter, including Cloudflare 403 blocks, slow website loading, 524 timeouts on Claude (with a different domain suggested as the fix), 429 errors when a key's quota is exhausted, and the maximum of five concurrent requests on the welfare group. The homepage promotes failover routing from GPT to Claude or Gemini, while the documentation promises "no routing and no model substitution"; as the two are inconsistent, the model field in each response should be checked.

Who it suits, and who it does not

It suits Hong Kong developers who build small projects involving no sensitive data on Chinese models such as DeepSeek, Qwen and GLM, would like one OpenAI-format key for management and billing, and are comfortable with Chinese-language customer support. Begin with the trial credit, then make a small top-up, and set a spending cap on every key.

If the main purpose is to use GPT, Claude or Gemini in Hong Kong, you should not register: under its policy these models are not available to Hong Kong residents, and circumvention by VPN exposes the balance to being frozen without refund. It is also unsuitable for handling customer or personal data, for running production systems, or for anyone who needs English-language support and an operator that can be held to account.

FAQ

Can Hong Kong residents use GPT or Claude through FastAIToken?
Not under its region policy. Hong Kong is absent from the supported lists of OpenAI, Anthropic and the Google Gemini API, and FastAIToken provides a model only where its maker supports the user's location.
What are the consequences of using a VPN?
Circumvention by VPN, proxy or false address breaches the terms; FastAIToken may freeze the account, and a balance frozen for a breach is not refunded.
Is there free credit on registration?
New users may contact customer service after registering to request trial credit; customer service sets the amount, which is not published. Our referral code adds no further reward.
Which email addresses can be used to register?
Gmail, Outlook, QQ, vip.qq.com, 163 and a few company domains. Other addresses, including local internet service provider accounts, are rejected.
Can I obtain a refund?
Unused paid balance, provided you apply within 30 days of the top-up and before an invoice is issued. Credit already used, promotional bonuses and the 1% to 3% fee on card or PayPal payments are not refunded.
Does the balance expire?
Yes. It lapses 365 days after the last top-up, and each top-up restarts the period.
Is it suitable for customer data?
No. The terms permit the retention of metadata and some request logs, and request content may be transmitted to upstream providers.
